About WEETU
Founded in 1987, WEETU is a model for social and enterprise regeneration.
WEETU's clients are women in East Anglia. But its innovative prototype reaches many socially and financially excluded groups. WEETU now offers its models and consultancy to other organisations and has successful partnerships in urban areas and among mixed-gender groups.
WEETU Full Credit - the toolkit for enterprise - goes beyond micro-credit to offer training and long-term support. It enables organisations to customise delivery within proven methods. Full Credit also offers access to WEETU's loan fund and its backroom management.
In addition to business skills and loans, WEETU provides its clients ICT and other training opportunities along with job-hunting guidance. WEETU reaches marginalised groups so successfully that WEETU staff now consult with agencies to help them fulfil their targets. It offers organisations bespoke training packages for employment or enterprise and a social impact evaluation tool to measure results.
Just as WEETU is client-led in its own programmes, its partnerships with agencies are flexible and innovative. As a social enterprise, WEETU puts the money it generates right back into its programmes.
