Social Impact Evaluation
WEETU's programmes don't just help clients improve their finances. They enhance the quality of their lives.
That's not wishful thinking. The results are in the Social Impact Evaluation Tool.
The SIE is a longitudinal study performed by an independent research firm that measures non-financial outcomes. WEETU created it for micro-finance programmes, but it can be adapted to suit others.
Development of social capital is commonly known as a 'soft' outcome. But it has practical, provable results. They can be quantified by the SIE. Findings can then be used to evaluate and fine-tune a programme. Or, they can be presented to funders, policymakers and partners.
It is a tool that proves results.
WEETU's evaluations found programme participants who grow in confidence are more likely to exercise, to take advantage of adult education and are active members of their communities. The argument could be made they are healthier, less likely to need benefits and create higher aspirations for their children -- all of which can have tangible, community-wide results.
